Diego Silva de Frietas

Diego Silva de Freitas is an accomplished athlete and performance artist dedicated to capoeira. Beginning his training at age ten in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Diego has excelled in numerous ABADÁ-Capoeira competitions, earning top honors including first-place finishes in New York and Mexico City. After relocating to New York in 2012, Diego contributed to local ABADÁ-Capoeira initiatives before settling in the Bay Area in 2016. As the Artistic Director of ABADÁ-Capoeira Marin, he passionately teaches students of all levels and is renowned for his exceptional instructional abilities and dynamic performances worldwide. In 2019, he was awarded his brown cord at the ABADÁ-Capoeira International Arts Festival in Rio de Janeiro, recognizing his significant contributions to the capoeira community.
